The Environment and Land Tribunals Ontario Adopt Decisia

The Environment and Land Tribunals Ontario (ELTO) is the latest cluster of administrative tribunals to adopt Decisia for the online publishing of the decisions of its constituents.  Decisia will enable ELTO to standardize how the public and legal professionals get online access to the tribunals’ decisions, making it easy for users to conduct advanced legal research across all jurisdictions, a selection of them or any of them.

In addition, thanks to Decisia support of images and its capacity to synchronize client data with the CanLII website, maps and schematics included in the decisions of the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT) will soon become available on CanLII.  Maps and schematics appended to the LPAT decisions were previously not available on the CanLII website because of technical constraints.

ELTO brings together six Ontario tribunals and boards which adjudicate matters related to land use planning, environmental and heritage protection, property assessment, land valuation and other matters.  The cluster regroups the Assessment Review Board, the Board of Negotiation, the Conservation Review Board, the Environmental Review Tribunal, the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal, and the Mining and Lands Tribunal.
