The Federal Courts Reports Website Upgraded with Decisia

We are happy to announce that the Federal Courts Reports website recently adopted Decisia.

The Federal Courts Reports (FCR) are published by the Office of the Commissioner for Federal Judicial Affairs Canada (FJA). Their website makes reported judgments, digests, and information on appeals from the Federal Court of Appeal and the Federal Court openly available online.

By upgrading the FCR website to Lexum’s Decisia platform, the FJA is aiming to make legal research easier by replacing multiple boxes with a unified full-text search interface supporting the use of operators.

Moreover, the digitization of the complete reports from 1971-1992 more than doubles the scope of content accessible on the FCR website. Full volumes as well as individual decisions from this period are made available using Lexum’s new approach to PDF publishing. This new material is presented in the bilingual side-by-side format that is much appreciated by the readers of the FCR. It retains the original formatting of the paper reports while benefiting from the improved digital capabilities of Decisia, such as full-text indexing, highlighting of search keywords, and making full use of metadata for filtered search.

Have a look at the new features available now on the Federal Courts Reports website. Stay vigilant for additional features that will be added to the website in the coming weeks.
