Lexum is happy and proud to announce that the State of Michigan Attorney Discipline Board (MADB) has chosen Decisia to modernize its delivery of information to the public. Over 7,000 legal documents, including notices, orders and opinions, have been migrated from the MADB legacy database and reposted on the MADB public website powered by Decisia.
Decisia boosts online access to disciplinary data by automatically converting PDF and MS Word documents into HTML pages and by making them easy to search and browse. In contrast to the former MADB website search that was limited to the attorney’s name or keywords, Decisia enables a better search combining Boolean, wildcards, and proximity full-text search with a long list of filters. These filters include the attorney’s name, the document’s numbers and type, county and city, effective date, and more. In essence, Decisia makes it easier for the people of Michigan to access disciplinary information about attorneys of the Great Lakes State.
The MADB provides transparent discipline hearings, orders, and opinions about the 35,000 lawyers and attorneys practising in the State of Michigan. The MADB is an independent adjudicative agency under the supervision of the Supreme Court of Michigan. Its role is to supervise and discipline Michigan attorneys, protecting the public accordingly. The MADB has been created as a safeguard to maintain credibility and confidence in the legal system of the State of Michigan.
