The New York City Office of Collective Bargaining Selects Decisia to Upgrade its Cases Search

The New York City Office of Collective Bargaining (NYC OCB) selected Decisia by Lexum to replace its current cases search engine.  Decisia will enable the NYC OCB to provide online users with enhanced full text search and customized fields search into its archive of decisions.  The new cases search feature will make it possible to filter search results based on various citation formats, including case name, docket number and decision number, as well as by date and decision type.  Lexum  will import archived cases from PDF and a new Optical Character Recognition (OCR) process will be run on them  to improve indexing.

The upgraded NYC OCB case search should be made available on its current website over the next few weeks.

The NYC OCB is a neutral agency authorized to resolve questions concerning union representation (certifications), and adjudicate issues concerning collective bargaining, retaliation or discrimination based on union activity, and the union’s duty of fair representation. Decisions on these issues are rendered by either the Board of Collective Bargaining or the Board of Certification. The NYC OCB also conducts mediations to resolve improper practice claims, representation disputes, and disputes over terms of collective bargaining agreements. In addition, the NYC OCB administers the statutory impasse and grievance arbitration process.
