As we mentioned in May, Lexum and CanLII are excited to attend the Annual LVI meeting, hosted this year by CyLaw, the Cyprus Legal Information Institute. The 21st edition of the event will take place at the Columbia Venue Centre in Limassol from September 26 to 27, 2024. You can now access the conference details at lvi2024.org.
The theme for this year’s conference is “Free Access and the Rule of Law: Policy, Approaches, and Technology”. Partners from around the world will join to discuss these important topics. The full program is available online, and registration is still open.
In line with our ongoing commitment to the Free Access to Law movement and the Declaration of Montreal, Lexum will actively participate in two sessions:
- Frédéric Pelletier, VP Legal Information, and Emma Elliott, VP Operations, will present “Prompting the Law: Overcoming Methodological Challenges in LLM Legal Content Generation”. This session will explore the development and deployment of automated legal summaries and analyses using large language models (LLMs), sharing insights into challenges, solutions, and the future of automated case law and legislation analysis.
- Pierre-Paul Lemyre, VP Business Development, will present “Lexum’s AI-Powered Legal Information Analysis: The Kitten Play Is Over”. This session highlights the transformation of CatLII into a major content development project for CanLII and Lexum, using LLMs to summarize judicial decisions.
LVI is the premier international event uniting organizations dedicated to making legal information freely available online. Lexum is eager to showcase its latest innovations to the LVI community and learn about global advancements in this field.
