We are happy to announce that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has selected Decisia to start publishing the full text of its member conduct board decisions on its website.
The RCMP aims to publish its member conduct board decisions to the benefit of the complainants, witnesses, and the public. Decisia proved to be a great fit given its ability to improve the search and accessibility of legal decisions.
By upgrading to Lexum’s Decisia platform, the RCMP is making access to its member conduct board decisions easier by removing the requirement from interested parties to request individual documents from its registry. It is also implementing advanced legal research features such as full-text searching, highlighting of search keywords, and quality metadata for filtered searching. The RCMP decisions made available via Decisia will also meet web accessibility standards to the benefit of people with disabilities.
RCMP members are subject to the same laws as all Canadian citizens. In addition, member conduct is guided by the Code of Conduct of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (Code of Conduct). RCMP members are subject to this Code of Conduct both on and off-duty, in Canada and abroad. Conduct hearings are initiated in cases where the member’s dismissal is being sought based on contraventions of the Code of Conduct.
Stay tuned for the launch of this new Decisia site in the coming months.
