Lexum operates the official decision website of the Supreme Court of Canada (SCC) since 1993. Since 2012, the SCC decisions are managed and disseminated by Decisia, Lexum’s online tool for decision-making bodies wishing to provide easy and professional access to their decisions from their own website, intranet and extranet. The new partnership agreement ensures the continuity of this service for the 5 years to come. During this period Lexum will continue to support the SCC regarding the ongoing electronic dissemination of its documents, in addition to provide it with access to its legal citator, LexHub.
The partnership agreement also opens the possibility of accessing the SCC data in bulk. Thus, it is now possible to obtain a programmatic access to the decision database of the Supreme Court of Canada in order to download source documents, as well as the associated metadata. Organizations interested by an access of this sort can communicate with Lexum to the email address info@lexum.com.
The SCC decision website is one of the most visited legal information website in Canada. Users can access decisions of the Court within minutes of their provision to the public and perform full text searches in the body of judgments, application for leaves, bulletins and news releases.
